Green nanotechnology: Environmentally and economically sustainable new cleantech functional materials for microelectronics: no heavy metals, no rare earth elements, no iron, traceable origin of elements compatible with semiconductor industry. Development of genuinely novel functional materials requires considerable know-how in basic sciences. FRE develops materials in accordance with the guidelines given in International Technology Roadmap for Semiconductors 2.0.
Insulating ferromagnetic materials well above the room-temperature
- Suitable for tunable RF-components and spintronic devices
- Large magnetization values
- An alternative to Y3Fe5O12 (YIG) ferrite - the magnetization values of 4 nm thick layers are significantly larger than the
values found in YIG films
- Grows well on silicon substrates and optically transparent single crystals, such as sapphire and lithium niobate
Transparent to visible light
- Material can also be applied in the processing of electromagnetic waves in the microwave region and in magneto-optic applications
Patented materials
Besides materials we design and test various RF-components structures
- Tunable, fast, small and low-energy consuming devices
- Filters operating in the 4-10 GHz range accessible
- Next generation devices operate at significantly higher frequencies, up to 40GHz, and necessitate new solutions. To
respond to these requirements, we developed materials operating in this frequency range.
